Beach Road Nature Reserve, is located in the seaside town of Whitehead and is owned and managed by Carrickfergus Borough Council.

The Giant’s Ring, is a henge monument at Ballynahatty, near Shaw’s Bridge, Belfast, Northern Ireland. It was originally preserved by Viscount Dungannon. The site is a State Care Historic Monument and has ASAI status.

Kiltonga Wildlife Reserve, is pathway along the lake allows for closer inspection of the birds. For example, swans, mallards, little grebe, moorhens, and coots are usually present. There is an observation area to view the birds and other wildlife.

Lough Neagh Discovery Centre known as Oxford Island is located on the shores of Lough Neagh. This area is designated as a National Nature Reserve due to its wide variety of habitats such as reed beds, open water, wildlife ponds and wildflower meadows.

Murlough National Nature Reserve, is a fragile 6000 year old sand dune system owned by the National Trust and managed as Ireland’s first Nature Reserve since 1967. It is an excellent area for walking and bird watching due to its spectacular location at the edge of Dundrum Bay and the Mourne Mountains.

Lagan Valley Regional Park, Lagan Valley Regional Park is recognized as Northern Ireland’s only Regional Park. It covers an area of 4,200 acres and extends 11 miles along both sides of the River Lagan between Stranmillis, Belfast to Union Locks, Lisburn.
